Character profile

After much research, I was inspired by the tragic story of Phoebe Prince and decided to create a main character to portray the feelings people like Phoebe felt when being Cyber bullied. I have linked below a character profile for the main character.


Part Seven; Secondary research

In order to ensure I portray the character accurately during my music video, I decided to carry out some research on Cyber Bullying cases that have resulted in suicide. One story which particularly stood out to me what phoebe prince which I have linked below.


This story has inspired me to base my character for my music video on phoebe's experience.

Part two; Primary Research

I have gathered a few responses in regards to my questionnaire on the subject of Cyber Bullying in a primary school and secondary school to decide on an appropriate target audience. I have linked the questionnaire responses from the primary school safe guarding professional below.


The overall response from the primary school questionnaire was that Cyber Bullying is not that common within the school and they only receive cases once or twice per term. However, I found that the school provide many school initiatives to raise awareness suggesting that this could be a reason for the low rates in Cyber Bullying cases. However, the safe guarding professional suggested from a primary perspective a video to educate parents more about online safety would be really useful too alongside their school initiatives. 


The overall response from the secondary school questionnaire was that Cyber bullying is an ongoing issue and is frequent within schools. The response also states that a number of steps are taken when it is apparent a child is being Cyber Bullied, one of the steps is to re-educate the child who is the bully emphasising that there room for a video like the one I aim to create to be used as a preventative measure for Cyber Bullying. I have therefore decided that my video should be aimed at year 7 and year 8 students in order to be used as a preventative measure to raise awareness and prevent Cyber Bullying.

It could be argued that only two safeguarding leaders were used for the research and so therefore my results are not generalizable, however, I have gathered a large insight on the preventative measure's available in large schools and so the results are applicable to my video.

Today I created my storyboard for my music video so I could visualise how I wanted my final product to look.



Part six- Secondary Research- storyboard research

In order to ensure I create a storyboard correctly for my music video, I decided to research into key things I must include or consider before creating my video in order to ensure my storyboard is detailed. In order to get a greater understanding on the different shot types I could use for my music video, I have found a useful presentation describing all the different shot types.



Part Four; Secondary Research- Message bubble tutorial

Today I researched into how to create a message bubble in order to create the illusion that the main character is being cyber bullied. Here are the videos I found useful to create this effect.








I attempted this effect and felt it was really easy to do after much practice. I have linked a short video I created using this effect.
